Sophie is an accomplished and knowledgeable horsewoman from Double Dan Horsemanship. Sophie started riding horses when she was 8yrs old and was introduced to endurance at the age of 10.

Sophie grew up in the Newcastle in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales. She was introduced to horsemanship when she attended a clinic at Raymond terrace where she met Dan Steers.

Sophie has been working for Dan and Pia Steers since 2012. She completed an internship and is still learning and growing her horsemanship on a daily basis. Sophie now competes in stockhorse events when time permits.

In 2017, Sophie graduated her Equine Science Degree from Charles Sturt University. Sophie has taken on the role as clinic and events administrator after the passing of Daz McDowall. She is also an assistant trainer to Dan Steers at the Australian training facility as well as teaching along side Dan at clinics and shows.

Sophie is passionate about training young horses, liberty horses and roman riding when time permits with teaching and assisting in clinics.
